THE NEW YORK TIMES SUGGESTS HOTEL MILANO SCALA FOR A 36h ITINERARY IN MILAN

Between a promenade in Duomo square, a show at La Scala Theatre and a visit to the Leonardo’s Last Supper, you can also find Hotel Milano Scala inside one of the most prestigious international travel guides: the New York Times’s 36 hours.

This guide is an updated and extended version of the “36 Hours”, the historical column of the renowned American newspaper, that offers to its readers 125 itineraries for a fast but unforgettable trip in Europe. Among the Italian destinations we, of course, find Milan!

Our hotel is mentioned among the suggested locations to stay in town with this motivation “Riffs on an opera theme, but its eco-conscius efforts are no act”. A perfect resume for our philosophy! The Opera theme is a symbol of the bond we feel with the city of Milan, especially its historical part, while our green philosophy is the result of our idea of future.. and for us the future is green!

Hotel Milano Scala and its eco-sustainabiliy

Eco-sustainability is such an important issue, we can only confirm what the New York Times writes. We are in fact one of the very few zero emissions structures in Italy, the first one in Milan. What does this mean? That thanks to a geothermal system, our hotel has completely eliminated the harmful emissions for both rooms’ heating and cooling system.

And this is only the “invisible” side of our green commitment.. What you will find at our hotel is a 100% electric car at disposal of our Guests that need to drive fast around the city. Do you prefer public transportation? At our Hotel you won’t find the usual paper magazines, but the Pressreader service that allows you to read the digital version of about 5.000 magazines available for our Guests in many languages. Not enough yet? We have a vegetable roofgarden where our gardener Filippo grows vegetables, edible flowers and aromatic herbs used in the hotel restaurant, for healthy recipes, and the rooftop bar, for green cocktails. We strongly advise you to have a visit!

The tour of Milan by the New York Times!

If you wish to take inspiration from the 3 day tour to discover Milan, these are the suggestions from the “36 hours: Europe” guide: start on Friday with a visit at the Triennale Design Museum, lunch break with a typical Milanese menu and a inevitable aperitif along the Naviglicanals. Dedicate your Saturday to visit the Novecento Museum (inside the Arengario Palace) with its beautiful art collections, go shopping in Montenapoleone street looking for the best designers, end your day with a show at La Scala Theatre. Sunday is dedicated to relax, with a visit to the Hangar Bicocca and a brunch.

What’s missing? Dear New York Times, you forgot to include in the tour an aperitif at our beautiful panoramic Sky Terrace Bar! One of the few terraces in Milan with a stunning 360° view on the Milan’s skyline, one of the most posted on Instagram! Do not miss to taste one of the signature cocktails made by Sara, our young and eclectic barlady that will make you discover the world of our rooftop garden’s flavours and aromas. Add it on the list of your places to visit and you won’t regret it!
